National Commander to Visit Massachusetts
National Commander Michael Fox will be visiting the Detachment of Massachusetts from August 4th to August 7th. We have a full schedule of events planed for the Commander's visit. These include showcasing the history, culture and beauty of our great state. We will also be reserving time on Friday August 5th, Saturday August 6th and Sunday August 7th for members of the Sons of the American Legion meet and spend some time with Commander Fox. This includes conducting a couple Flying Flags for Heroes events at local cemeteries, Post visitations and attendance at the American Legion Baseball World Series Northeast Tournament at Holy Cross College in Worcester.
TRAVEL VISITATION INTINERARY
On Friday August 5, 2022 we will be taking National Commander Michael Fox from California into Boston to visit some historical sights. After that we will be doing some Post visitations. Below are the Posts we are planning on visiting that day. It is impossible to visit everyone one and do not want anyone to feel slighted of you are not on the list. These Posts were chosen due to their geographical proximity to each other. However, if members from other Squadrons want to meet at the Posts listed below to meet Commander Fox feel free to stop by.
On Saturday August 6, 2022 we will also be doing Post visitations. Once again time and proximity limits determined what visitations can be made? We will be doing a Flying Flags for Hero’s Program, which is Commander Fox’s Project this year at a cemetery in Paxton at 10:00 AM. We are asking as many members as possible form the Detachment to take part in the ceremony. After the cemetery we will continue on with the visitation schedule listed for Saturday.

Sunday 08/07/22:
1:00 PM – Holy Cross University - Massachusetts is hosting The American Legion Baseball Northeast Regional Tournament. Sunday the championship game is slated to be played. Commander Fox is slated to speak at ceremony before the game. We are asking as many Son’s members as possible to come and support American Legion Baseball and meet National Commander Fox before he heads home on Monday.
